Lovers’ Hollow Virtual Book Tour
Font is excited to announce its latest Virtual Book Tour (VBT) for our very own Orna Ross’s debut novel, “Lovers’ Hollow”. A VBT consists of bringing an author to various blogs over a period of a few weeks to discuss their latest offering to the literary world. Orna is scheduled to visit hosts from the USA, UK, Trinidad and Tobago, South Africa and Australia, meaning that her book gets worldwide coverage from the comfort of her armchair.
Each tour stop is carefully scheduled, and readers have an opportunity to come online and ask Orna any questions, via the host blog, on the day.
As Orna is a creative writing teacher and mentor and literary agent as well as an author, so we’re sure you’ll have lots of questions for her.
So come online over the coming weeks to one of the blogs specified below and leave a question for her on anything from the world of literary agents, to beating writers’ block.
The tour stops are as follows:
On Sunday, April 6th, Caroline Smailes is hosting Orna’s book on her blog – http://insearchofadam.blogs.com – and we hope you’ll be able to pop in on the day. Caroline’s tour stop is special as she has agreed to invite readers onto her blog between 12pm and 4pm on April 6th to chat with Orna and ask her anything about her book or work. As author of the huge hit “In Search of Adam”, published in June 2007, Caroline has enjoyed increasing success over the past year and her book has received warm critical acclaim. Her second venture into the literary sphere is the novella entitled “Disraeli Avenue”, which is available for download on her website now. Please support Caroline’s tour opener and try to make it on the day.
On Wednesday, April 8th, Amy Munnell is hosting Orna on her blog – http://3questionsandanswers.blogspot.com – so if you haven’t had a chance to catch Orna on Caroline’s page, come onto Amy’s for the day and check out Orna’s book. Amy hails from Georgia in the US and her aim in blogging is to provide interesting articles about writing and writers – something she achieves on a daily basis. Visit her blog and leave a question in her comments section, below the tour advertisement, for Orna to answer on the day.
On Wednesday, April 9th, Jaime McDougall from Fiction Scribe – www.fictionscribe.com – is hosting “Lovers’ Hollow”. Fictionscribe is a great source for everything writing related, and is an encouraging and informative source on publishing, opportunities within writing, grammar and general advice. Jaime, more commonly known as JM, has been a professional blogger since she moved to Australia. She enjoys author promotions, interviews and online tours as well as giving book reviews. As Jaime is based in Australia, a live chat with Orna would prove impractical for many, but we hope, nevertheless, that her readers will benefit from Orna’s visit.
On Tuesday, April 15th, Sarah Ball hosts Orna’s book on her blog – http://sarahwritesstories.blogspot.com . Sarah is the author of three novels: “Nine Months”, “Marry Me” and “Written in the Stars”, and is currently in the middle of book number four. She looks forward to asking Orna some questions of her own on the day, so their conversation should be a stimulating read. Get involved by logging onto Sarah’s blog and leave any comments or queries for Orna there.
On Thursday, April 17th, Orna takes her book to www.nourishingrelationships.blogspot.com – a blog run by two women from California, in the US, named Phyllis Goldberg and Rosemary Lichtman. Hosted by Rosemary Lichtman, Ph.D. and Phyllis Goldberg, Ph.D., their blog www.NourishingRelationships.blogspot.com provides a comfortable place for women of the Sandwich Generation to share ideas and solutions as they care for a family-in-flux. Posts are about areas of interest to Sandwiched Boomers - attending to aging parents; raising children, teens and kidults; maintaining a meaningful relationship with a life partner; building connections with grandchildren; celebrating holidays as a family; connecting with relevant current events - all in the context of giving women permission and guidance about how to take better care of themselves. Their website, www.HerMentorCenter.com, offers information, support, and direction for Sandwiched Baby Boomers. A free monthly newsletter, Stepping Stones, highlights stories and tips to spark introspection, inspire new ideas and stimulate direct action to create a healthier sandwich. So if you haven’t gotten a chance to catch her tour at this stage, or have a question to put to her, do it here on the 17th.
Laurie Pawlik-Kienlen invites Orna to be a guest blogger on her site - http://writingtips-writingquotations.blogspot.com/ - next week, beginning Monday, April 21st. Laurie is a freelance writer who specializes in health and wellness topics. She writes for magazines such as Reader’s Digest, Psychologies, Woman’s Day, Natural Health, Flare, Spirituality and Health, and Glow. She’s the Feature Writer for Psychology Suite101, and has 2 blogs: Inspirations for Women and Writing Quotations & Tips. Her degrees are in Psychology and Education, from the University of Alberta in Canada. Laurie lives on Bowen Island, British Columbia — just 45 minutes from downtown Vancouver.
Liane Spicer – http://lianespicer.blogspot.com – has also agreed to host an interview with Orna in May of this year, featuring her book and work.[Exact date to be finalised]. Liane Spicer is a Carribean writer and the author of “Cafe au Lait”, a multicultural romance set on the islands of Trinidad and Tobago. Published by Dorcherter (NY), the novel is on the mass market lead titles list and is scheduled for release in September 2008. Liane’s main readership are those interested in the process of writing, so if you’re currently in the middle of writing a novel - or even just thinking about starting one - their discussion should have something for you.
We’re excited about bringing Orna’s book on tour in advance of the publication of “A Dance in Time” in September and hope that you’ll benefit from it and help to make it a success. Please come online and support the venture if you have any questions or comments.
Keep an eye on our blog to receive updates on new tour stops which we expect to advertise soon.
Font and Orna wish to sincerely thank all of our hosts, especially those who have gone the extra mile to make this happen.
Happy blogging!
